final studio practice 01
The task for this photoshoot project was getting inspired by three of the photographers we've covered in these months, by re making their photos using studio spaces, light, and equipment.
I hired some equipment and lights outside the college for me to get more time and the space desired to conclude this project.
Week 1: 11/01/16 - Receive brief for project and begin research on photographers and styles.
Week 2: 18/01/16 - Finalise research, choose ten photos to re-make
Week 3: 25/01/16 - I started taking pictures in my apartment
Week 4: 01/02/16 - I selected my 10 final images and modified some of these with
11/02/16 - Hand images in to HE office by 12 noon in a photography portfolio.
The first photographer that I have chosen is michelle rogers
Pritzl, Michelle Rogers Pritzl was born and raised in Washington DC, where she
Began studying photography in high school. Pritzl received a BFA from the
Corcoran College of Art and Design in 2001, MA from California State University
in 2010 and a MFA in Photography from Lesley University College of Art, where
she Studied with Christopher James, in 2014. I focused above all on his two
albums, the first is Soma, her work explores the tension between past and
present in our psychological lives as well as the photographic medium itself,
Often working in a digital / analogue hybrid. The second album tells the
psychological violence suffered by women by Christianity evangelic, these women
were brought to feel ashamed of themselves, of their bodies of their sexuality,
and their dreams, these women were accustomed to serve men at the end of their
pleasure; since small he was taught that it was necessary to remain pure until
marriage, this series tells the story of the photographer seeks to depict the
feelings felt.
I chose to reproduce photos of Michelle because I find them
very interesting, both for the story that there is behind the way in which they
were made, the artist works with both classical and modern techniques.
Ellen was born in New York City, Pennsylvania, but moved to
northern California at a very young age.
While she considers
San Francisco her true home, she has moved between the US and Europe several times. Most recently,
after spending eight years in Zurich she and her family now live in a small
town thirty minutes from there
above all photos of this photographer my attention is
captured by the album goodbye uma, these photos focus on the growing child from
the early age in which they play with dolls, the age of innocence, and then to
the age where we say bye to the person we are, searching for who we will become.
