Photography is still on of the greatest technologies of history and it is still progressing.

Now it is essential in many areas of science.

It is crucial in anatomy, geology, anthropology and zoology. 

It does depict things that the human eye is not able to see at all. Like in astronomy, using telescopes, or in other science, through microscopes. 

In medicine we have x Rays taken at the hospitals, ultra violet photographs,thermal photography and infrared - which can be used in engineering as well- , which are great innovation and still are advanced technologies which are going to develop even more in the future.

Even if the invention of photography was dated in '800, it is still modern, and used in many areas, from the artistic to many aspects of science, and it is still getting better in many ways.
