Applied photography techniques Project 2

For the second project I tried to create different timelaps using a phone app.
The choice of this project was born out of the curiosity to find out if a cell phone can really recreate a photographic technique that will definitely require much more equipment, effort and post production.
Time lapse photography is a technique by which videos made of frames taken at a much lower frequency than those of a reproduction, are produced by performing several shots of the same scene at regular intervals and then assembling them in a video, one shot byframe. The time between shooting and shuttering is always such that the frequency of shots is inferior to the video playback rate (24 frames per second) so you get the characteristic "accelerated" effect in which everything moves very quickly.
To create these videos I then bought an app that allowed me to work on this technique, the app I used is called lapse it.

This app lets you take these photos by choosing the shooting range and the time range, exposure, ISO, focus.
One of the important things is being able to keep the phone in the same position as much as possible, so I decided to buy a cellular tripod to keep the still image
In all of these videos I tried to pick a shooting point that would allow me to frame a motion scene, such as a panorama from where you could see a busy street or the city's chaos in the busiest hours of the day.
Once created the video, this app also allows you to do some modification such as different effects that can give you more light, warm colors, helping you improve the video quality.
Once you've created the video, you can save the video on the phone roll, so you can publish it on any website; In my case I have all published using vimeo.

By evaluating the final job I can say that while not having a high quality video, with these types of apps it is really very simple and practical to recreate a technique that with a camera would definitely require much more time and effort; As I have already said the quality of the final job will never be completely perfect, but using a cell phone we can at any time of our day and anywhere create something different; One of the videos, for example, has been taken up inside a very crowded cafeteria, so we can understand that with the equipment of a camera it would practically be impossible to resume a scene for very long times, while with the cellphone I could very well make the Videos without disturbing or being noticed by someone.
