professional practice, client work

Piccolino Nottingham
Client Work

The purpose of this project was to find a client to work for. In this case i decided to collaborate with the popular restaurant Piccolino in the Nottingham branch. The restaurant requested me different shoots to use in their official social media Facebook page. During two week, i have been there four times for the shooting. In the first two shootings the pictures weren't as i desired because i did not have the lighting but this problem had been fixed with post production. In the last shooting i used a small light to take pictures of the drinks and food. From this work i earned 50£ and i learned how to use and relate with professionals and people. All the expenses for printing the pictures will be covered by the restaurant. The deal was that every week, a picture of mine will be published on their Facebook page for promotion.

This is an example of how it is going to look. The picture has already been liked from many people, more than the people who likes the pictures of the official chain Instagram.

Research Book 4 will collate a photographic catalogue into a print-based tool by which to

showcase your skills and gain future employment. Photographic albums are available in many
different styles and types and are a great way to attract potential clients, being a tangible and
tactile item as apposed to web-based versions.
Photographic albums are an invaluable marketing tool, providing a tangible item in the freelance
photographers advertising and promotional suit of materials.
It is expected that your research will generally be portfolio based (blog) as you build up evidence
and material to support your development. However, the key is the critical reflection and thinking
about your personal aims not the “Quantity” of material on your blog.

There are two different kind of portfolio. The digital one and the printed one. The printed one is the one i'm going to be focus on.
It can be printed in different paper, with a different pages of sleeves, in order to show the easiest way possible to a client your recent work.
Depending on how smart or customised you want the portfolio to be, there are many costs that goes from £100 to £1000.
To have a good portfolio, well done, rich and very good presentable, it increases the chances of hire ability, and i think you should try to make it look as personal as possible so the clint can see your personality through your own pictures.
It is useful having the portfolio online but i believe the printed one is more effective.

Feedback by Stefano Daga
I personally think that Francesca's work is superbe because the simplicity of the moments she captures not just tell the story of the character but it makes me want to know all them people. Even if they look like normal people, it looks that they are hiding many interesting stories
